Product Description
The Marimekko Pillow Case is printed in the Unikko pattern in red, pink and white. It is made from 100% cotton percale, sized for a standard bed pillow. One end of the pillow case is sewn shut, while the other is open. The open end has an interior flap that holds the pillow tight in its case.
The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time, Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is known as the symbol of Marimekko.
