Product Description
The Marimekko Pillow Case is printed in the Unikko pattern in charcoal. It is made from unbleached cotton that has been washed for a soft finish. One end of the pillow case is sewn shut, while the other is open with an interior flap that holds the pillow tight in its case. It is sized for a standard bed pillow.
The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time, Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is known as the symbol of Marimekko.
