Product Description
The Marimekko Kaika Cosmetic Pouch is made of a dirt repellant, heavyweight cotton fabric. It has a nylon lining and a zipper closure. The small bag is decorated with the Mini Unikko pattern in red, pink and white. Printed in Helsinki.
The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time, Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is known as the symbol of Marimekko.
