Product Description
The Marimekko Astrilli Bandana is made from lightweight organic cotton. It features the Unikko pattern in blue and off-white, with Marimekko text printed on its bottom edge.
The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time, Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is known as the symbol of Marimekko.
