The Ultima Thule line is an Iittala classic. These elegant glassware pieces can be for everyday use, or for special occasions. The collection was inspired by the melting ice in Lapland. The design reflects thousands of hours spent perfecting the glass-blowing technique required to produce the effect. The patterns gradually change as the glass burns the surface of the wooden molds. Ultima Thule means “outside the borders of the known world”, and these pieces are definitely out of this world! You will never see anything else quite like these intricately handmade glasses and bowls.
