Iittala’s Tapio Red Wine Glass was designed by Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala in 1952. Each glass has a hand-made bubble suspended in its base. The unique method of producing the glass bubble is done with a wooden stick, but only when the glass is at the correct consistency and temperature.
In the span of his career, Tapio Wirkkala created more than 400 glass objects for Iittala.
