A white laminate inset on the desk’s surface delineates workspace, while a slightly elevated secondary surface provides a place for books, office tools, and refreshments. Three removable covers with cutouts store and route cords and cables.
With its sleek profile, sophisticated combination of materials, thoughtfully designed dual-level desktop, and crafted details such as cork-lined drawers, the Airia Desk combines functionality and beauty. Through a process of observation and response and refinement, Ayako Takase and Cutter Hutton sought to create an “intelligent desk that acknowledged technology and the stuff that we accumulate when working, but does so in a subtle, integrated, and intuitive manner.”
