Features & Adjustments
Size Options
Three size options enable you to choose a chair that provides the best support and comfort. Each size option features a different seat and back size which affects the overall width, depth and height of the chair. Finding the right size ensures your entire body is properly supported. A reference chart for the Herman Miller Aeron Chair is provided under Resources to help you determine which size (A, B or C) is the best fit for you.
Tilt Adjustments
Easy-to-use comfort knobs have replaced levers for both tilt adjustments.
The Standard tilt allows you to recline in your chair. The standard tilt does not offer any controls for the tilt function.
The Tilt limiter allows you to set the angle where your chair will stop reclining. This means you can also lock your chair into an upright position.
The Seat angle adjustment allows you to move the seat of the chair into a forward tilting position. This slight forward angle is beneficial for those who like to sit upright or lean forward while working.
Tension Adjustment
Adjusting the tension of the recline is faster and easier than ever. With only a few turns of the tension knob, you will feel a noticeable difference. The tension knob controls how easily you recline in the chair and should be adjusted based on your body weight and sitting preferences. The tension knob is a standard adjustment and comes with all versions of the Aeron Chair.
Arm Options
The new version of the Aeron chair has a softer arm pad for increased comfort.
Fixed arms are stationary.
Height adjustable arms move up and down by releasing the lever at the back of the arm, sliding the arm into your desired position and using the lever to lock the arm into place. The redesigned Aeron Chair arm has an improved mechanism that makes adjusting the height of the arms smooth and effortless.
Adjustable arms pivot from side to side while also having the height adjustment feature.
Fully Adjustable Arms slide forward and backward up to 2.5″. They are height adjustable and pivot as well.
For detailed arm height dimensions, please see the Specifications Tab.
Zoned Pellicle Fabric
The Aeron Chair now features 8Z Pellicle™ fabric that offers 8 zones of support. Latitudinal zones of varying tension create an exceptionally comfortable sitting experience. The graphite frame is paired with the redesigned pellicle fabric in a coordinating color for a clean, classic look.
Back Support
Zonal Basic Back Support is provided by the 8Z Pellicle fabric and the zones of varying tensions.
Adjustable PostureFit SL™ Support is a new and improved adjustable back support option for the Herman Miller Aeron Chair. It offers support for both your lumbar area and sacrum. Two pads move independently to support your back. It can be easily adjusted fit the curve of your spine.
Casters
Standard Carpet Casters are made of hard black plastic and are ideal for thin carpeted surfaces.
Standard Hard Floor or Carpet Casters are made from a black rubberized material that glides more smoothly and quietly on hard surfaces.
Hard Floor or Carpet Casters with Quiet Roll Technology are made of soft nylon and are ultra-quiet when rolling. They also have a subtle braking feature that helps to prevent the chairs from rolling when not in use.
