Aino Aalto Set of Tumblers – 11 oz. The design of Aino Aalto’s Glassware springs from a perfectly balanced synthesis of functionality and timeless beauty. The elegant shape of each versatile piece permits stacking, while the form was inspired by the ripples made from a stone tossed into a pond. Her classic line of glassware has continued to send ripples through the design world since its launch in 1932.

About the Designer
In 1924, Aino Marsio went to work as an architect in Alvar Aalto’s office. The two soon fell in love, married and began a long partnership. In 1932, Alvar Aalto was beaten by his wife in a design competition. The winning entry, “Aalto glasses,” also won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale. This glassware is made for everyday use, and her simple yet timeless style is just as relevant today as it was 60 years ago.
