The iconic womb chair, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1948, has been featured in beautiful homes, advertisements and movies for over 60 years. Its smooth lines and soft curves surround the body when sitting in the chair, which creates the womb-like nature of the design.
Foam is placed over the structure of the womb chair, which is made from a strong reinforced fiberglass shell. Separate seat and back cushions are constructed of polyester with a resilient foam core. The base is made of steel wire with a polished chrome or black powder-coat finish. Stainless steel and nylon articulating glides will help keep floors unscratched.
