Poul Henningsen designed his first lights back in 1925 for an exhibition in Paris. His work always sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed, and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source. Poul Henningsen designed Snowball in 1958 and exhibited it along side the PH 5 at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. However, Snowball received no particular attention on this occasion, and was only re-launched and manufactured from 1983. Today, we thoroughly enjoy it as a a functional piece of art. This light is 100% glare-free and designed for symmetrical light distribution. The use of matte and shiny surfaces gives this fixture the perfect light intensity for hanging at medium to low heights in meeting rooms, above dining tables or in multiples down hallways and corridors.
