The Marimekko Oven Mitt and Pot Holder Set is made of unbleached cotton, with padded fillings and hanging loops. The set is printed in Maija Isola’s Seireeni pattern in burgundy and red.
While traveling in Greece in the early 1960s, Maija Isola got inspired by the movement of water. During this time she depicted water in the design of several fabric prints, including Seireeni (siren) from 1964. Named after the mythological sirens, the pattern also recalls the enchanting singing that lured sailors into dangerous waters.
