Marimekko’s Räsymatto print was designed in 2009 by Maija Louekari.
The name Räsymatto means “rag rug” in Finnish, referencing the traditional woven rugs found in Nordic homes and summer cottages. The pattern features a rhythmic arrangement of dots that echo the texture of braided and woven textiles. Part of the Siirtolapuutarha series, it reflects themes of everyday life, sustainability, and the charm of simple domestic traditions- reinterpreted in a clean, graphic style.
