The Marimekko Piiru Jacquard Pieni Unikko Scarf is woven out of soft green wool in the Pieni Unikko (small poppy) pattern. Wear it as a scarf or a shawl, it measures 71″ long with unfinished ends.
The Unikko (poppy) design was created in 1964 by Maija Isola. Armi Ratia, Marimekko’s founder, initially forbid the design of floral patterns. Armi believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Her opinion changed, and the Unikko pattern has become Marimekko’s unofficial logo.
