The Marimekko Oiva Mug features the Unikko pattern in orange, white and yellow. Made of stoneware, the mug is dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer safe.
The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is recognized as the symbol of Marimekko.
This product celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Unikko pattern and features the anniversary stamp on the bottom.
