The Oiva mug is made of white stoneware, and it features the golden Piirto Unikko pattern. Due to the golden metallic details, we recommend washing the product by hand. This product is not suitable for microwave use.
The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is recognized as the symbol of Marimekko.
