Product Description

The Marimekko Large Knitted Shoulder Bag features the Unikko pattern in orange and pink. It has a wide shoulder strap and a ribbon closure. The bag is made of firm, recycled polyester in a jacquard knit with vertical ribbing. The Marimekko logo is embroidered on its front.

The Unikko (poppy) pattern was designed in 1964 by Maija Isola. At that time, Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia ruled out the design of floral patterns. She believed flowers were more beautiful in nature than on textiles. Over time Ratia’s opinion changed. Today, this famous poppy is recognized as the symbol of Marimekko.
