The Ebonized Red Oak Bowl from Holland Bowl Mill is handcrafted. The entire bowl is coated with a blend of food-grade mineral oil and beeswax. Serves 2-4.
The exterior of the bowl is darkened from an ebonizing process. “Ebonizing” is a safe and easy way to produce bowls with originality and character. Steel wool is soaked in vinegar to create an “iron solution”. This solution is applied to the bowl, reacting immediately, turning the wood into a rich black color.
