Product Description

Herman Miller

Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, these molded plastic chairs were first introduced at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 1948. Utilizing molding techniques developed during WWII, the Eameses created the first manufactured plastic chairs. The Herman Miller® produced molded plastic chairs are based on the original Eames’ design and are made with updated, eco-friendly materials. The gentle curves of the chair create the perfect shape to cradle the body and deliver exceptional comfort.

This chair model has the classic solid wood dowel base. It is also available with as an armchair. Plastic seats are made of recyclable polypropylene. The Eames Molded Plastic Chairs are 100% recyclable at the end of their usable life. Three different finish options on each of these chairs makes them very customizable. Make this classic your own by picking the shell color, dowel finish, and metal finish.

This timeless Eames design’s most recent innovation is the addition of 100 percent post-industrial recycled plastic into the Eames Molded Plastic Chairs. The subtle matte texture of the material lends a soft tactility and notable durability.
