The ceramic tile Family Owlbum, from Motawi Tileworks, utilizes geometry to create a portrait of an owl family. The design captures the charm and spirit of Charley Harper’s artwork. Charley, an American Modernist, was known for featuring elements of nature in his artwork.
A raised-line technique was used when making this decorative tile. The technique forms small ridges that create the detailed design and contain the colorful glaze. The tile is made by hand in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A notch is on the back of the tile for hanging. An optional easel is available, specifically designed to hold a Motawi tile.
