Wedding Season Quickly Approaches

So many weddings, so little time!  Constraints like money, time, or even just a lack of inspiration can easily make wedding shopping an errand rather than the enjoyable experience it should be.  So, here are several suggestions from The Century House to get those creative gift-giving juices flowing…

A Gift on a Budget…
Rather than just picking something mid price range on the gift registry, buy several smaller items that compliment each other.  With a nice basket and ribbon, individual items turn into a beautiful, thoughtful present.  Combining items with things not on the registry, like wine or specialty foods, add to the novelty of the gift.  A great example is combining a couple wine glasses, a cork screw, some stem markers (for the couple that likes to entertain), and a bottle of wine.  Doesn’t that sound more exciting than a toaster oven?

Another themed idea (that could be as expensive or inexpensive as you like) is a pasta basket.  Pick a great bowl, a pasta spoon, maybe a colander, and include noodles and pasta sauce to add the finishing touches to a cute, but very functional gift.  To get more elaborate, add spices or candle holders with tapers.  The couple can share a romantic dinner, and have a couple nice pieces to cherish long after the pasta is gone.
