Job Description
We are looking for a multi-talented individual to join our team. In the Furniture Specialist role, every work day will be a little different. You will assemble and repair furniture in our warehouse. You will communicate with our sales staff to solve problems and “make things happen” for customers. You will have the opportunity to delight our customers by delivering and installing beautifully made modern furnishings in home and office environments. You will perform furniture repairs to give worn or damaged furniture new life. And, you will have to do some of the less glamorous tasks as well, such as receiving furniture shipments and organizing our warehouse.
Experience with furniture repair is highly preferred. Experience with furniture, assembly & installation, retail, customer service and/or delivery is also preferred, but we would love to hear from anyone who is excited by the job description above. There are a few requirements (listed below). But the most important assets you need for this position are a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work as part of a team. A passion for modern furniture and design is a plus as well because at The Century House, we love what we do and we love what we sell.
Requirements
- Ability to lift furniture and perform physical work on a daily basis
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- High school degree or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- Technical Degree or College Degree
- Interest in modern furniture and design
- Experience working with furniture (sales, delivery, assembly and/or installation)
- Experience working in retail or customer service
- Driving experience
