HermanMiller® Eames® Plastic Side Chair (Dowel Base)
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, these molded plastic chairs were first introduced at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1948. Utilizing molding techniques developed during WWII, the Eameses created the first manufactured plastic chairs. The Herman Miller® produced molded plastic chairs are based on the original Eames design and are made with updated, eco-friendly materials. The gentle curves of the chair create the perfect shape to cradle the body and deliver exceptional comfort.
This chair model has the classic solid wood dowel base. Choose from maple, walnut or ebony. It is also available with an armchair seat. Choose from ten modern and fresh seat colors. Plastic seats are made of recyclable polypropylene. The Eames Molded Plastic Chairs are 100% recyclable at the end of their usable life.
